Christ of the Five Wounds preside over the Via Crucis

imageChrist of the Five Wounds, Brotherhood of the Trinity, It will become the image number 39 to preside over the Via Crucis of the Brotherhoods of Seville on the first Monday of Lent.

El Sábado Santo era la jornada que más tiempo llevaba sin estar presente en este acto central de la Cuaresma.

El crucificado que talló Luis Álvarez Duarte en 2001 será la obra más moderna en presidir este acto. Una imagen que sustituyó a la realizada por Manuel Hernandez León en 1982 y que anteriormente sustituyó a dos imágenes más, una del mismo autor de 1981 -sustituido por sus grandes dimensiones- y la primitiva talla del siglo XVII.

El Vía Crucis de las Cofradías se celebrará el próximo 15 February 2016. Será la edición número 40. Quedan 27 Cristos por hacerlo sin contar los nueve de las cofradías de vísperas.
